When it comes to snacking, we need to be intentional about WHAT we are eating and WHY! Snacking has definitely gotten a bid of a bad reputation lately – but, you know what?! It’s not snacking that’s the problem – in fact, snacks can be an important part of your diet. A good snack can provide energy in the middle of the day or when you exercise. A healthy snack between meals can also decrease your hunger and keep you from overeating at meal time. Do you see the WHY and WHAT in there??
My story…
For the past few years, I have been eating 1-2 healthy snacks a day – in the mid morning and again in the mid afternoon. When I took the plunge into clean eating the year I was going to turn 45, I found out that snacking can be good for us – as long as we choose the right types of snacks. WHY?? For one thing, eating a couple of healthy snacks can keep us from eating not-so-healthy snacks and for another eating a snack will keep the metabolism going. Wondering WHAT to snack on?
