I get these two questions about meal prepping ALL THE TIME!!
What’s your secret? How do you stay motivated?
One of my secrets is meal prepping! I’ve been meal prepping for going on four years now. It’s a great way to save time, money, and reduce waste in the kitchen. AND, having food prepared in advance keeps me on track, so when I am not motivated to get dirty in the kitchen on a busy weeknight, I don’t have to! I know there are a lot of busy ladies that still haven’t caught the meal prep bug and believe me – I totally get it!! The other night I decided to do a quick mid week meal prep session and figured it might be helpful for some of the busiest of ladies to get a better grasp of the concept and get over the self limiting beliefs about meal prepping being hard! I say give it a try!

WHAT IS MEAL PREPPING?
Meal prepping is the act of preparing meals or recipes at one time and then portioning food out to create grab-and-go meals for later. It’s perfect for lunches! Thinking about packing a lunch at 5am makes me cringe, but when there’s food already portioned in the fridge — the feeling turns to one of relief!
Think of it like packing your lunches for the week all at once instead of packing your lunch each morning. You can use this same technique for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. If you’ve ever packed up leftovers from a dinner to take with you for lunch another day, then you’ve already done some meal prepping! To be most effective, meal prepping means preparing 3-7 days worth of food at a time.
I even pre-prep my meal prep to save time!
WHY MEAL PREP?
Meal prepping is convenient, efficient, reduces waste, and reduces temptation to eat outside of your nutrition and/or financial plan. We are all so busy, that cooking every single day is just about out of the question, right?! Meal prepping can allow you to still eat home-cooked meals without having to dedicate precious time each day to standing at the stove and oven.
