Get Extreme for 21DFXTVTestGroup!
I have been doing a new 21 day round of the 21 Day Fix Extreme. The 21 Day Fix Extreme is a 21 day fitness and nutrition program with 30 minute daily workouts, superfoods Shakeology and an easy to follow meal plan! I saw that Beachbody (creator of the program) was running a group and they are looking for people for a new 21 Day Fix Extreme infomercial! I was kind of stuck at a weight plateau and thought this challenge would be the perfect way to be accountable and maybe get picked!
My #21DFXTVTestGroup Plan!
I started day one on July the 4th. Thankfully the holiday fell in a way that our annual get together wrapped up on Sunday, the 3rd and I was able to get started pretty easily on the Monday. It was important to start because the end date for the group was set for July 27th!
For the second week, I was on a family vacation and boy was I nervous!! Usually I snack it up the entire week and come home bloated and wishing my pants weren’t so tight. I was hoping that this commitment to a group would hold me accountable to myself, just like I hope my challenge groups do for my participants.
I am now in week three after two weeks of making the exercise happen every single day, great nutrition the first week and pretty good nutrition during my week of vacation. For for third week I decided to do the combination of the extreme eating plan and the countdown to competition eating plan. The countdown to competition meal plan is 5 of the 7 days with no fruit and added proteins.
COUNTDOWN TO COMPETITION
I was a little nervous but mapped it out according to the meal plan you see below. I prepped a good amount of food on Monday so I would have it for Tuesday and Wednesday and probably still some things for Friday. I could decide what I liked from Tuesday and Wednesday and keep those same things on the plan for Saturday and Sunday.
RESULTS!
After week one I was down about 6 pounds. I didn’t get photos because I was on vacation and just forgot actually also forgot the measurements. But I did get photos and measurements at the end of week two. My weight was still down about 6 1/2 pounds and I thought that was great after week of vacation. After one day of doing the countdown to competition meal plan, I was down 3 more pounds!
I don’t actually have that much weight to lose – my goal is to be more lean. That is one of the reasons that I decided to go with the countdown to competition meal plan for the third week. I have been following the 21 Day Fix nutrition plan for about a year and thought that my body might have adjusted and that the switch in meal plans could help me get a little bit leaner and break the plateau. Specifically I’m still on the hunt for ABS! I know that mixing up the workout is also important for breaking a plateau, so I am thrilled about the new Beachbody program coming out at the end of the month! Country Heat! 21 DAY FIX WORKOUTS
I continue to enjoy the 21 Day Fix Extreme workouts and I have found that some that I didn’t like in the beginning, plyo fix extreme for instance has actually grown on me and I kind of like them now. I think it’s because I am stronger! The workouts are still challenging to me – I’m still working on doing anything for a minute and am thankful for the modifier!
I picked up a new resistance band and it’s better – and by better I mean more stretchy! A 15 pound weight band is what you want to use and you can adjust how you hold it to get the maximum benefit. If you get a band and the weight is too heavy you won’t be able to stretch it as far, especially for Pilates Fix Extreme. I did my best to do the 10 minute hard-core ab routine on the days specified but if I missed that day I did make sure to get them in the right number of times that week as noted in the workout calendar.
I am looking forward to the results on Sunday coming up and also knowing that I’ll be heading to the Beachbody Summit in Nashville in my best shape in a long time. I just had my 46th birthday recently and I remember last year I was able to say that I was in the best shape of my life then. This year is only an improvement on that! My weight is not that much different on the scale, but I know I am down 2 to 3 sizes and clothes and my skin is a lot less jiggly!
