Protein? In French toast?!

Protein French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices whole grain or Ezekiel bread (freezer aisle)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2c. egg whites
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Shakeology!)
  • Cinnamon

 

Steps:

Combine eggs, egg whites, protein powder & cinnamon into a bowl and whisk together completely.

Once combined soak 2 pieces of bread into the mixture. Cook in a hot skillet, flipping to ensure both sides are golden brown. Top with fresh fruit and a drizzle of maple syrup. ENJOY!!

Makes 4 slices (maybe 5). I ate two and froze the rest for another time. I’ll note how the reheated version is when I have it!
